I initially thought it was a $17 upcharge to sit closer or buy some perk. Now I’m seriously considering going after not going at all last season. I’ll take the bait.

NEWS: #RBNY is offering $17 off tickets to Sunday's home match v Montreal, calling the offer a "Hall Pass" after the league's top scorer, 17 year-old Julian Hall.

This is sad. What a missed opportunity to be human.

Product managers proudly showing off one idea they had AI generate for them.

In that same amount of time I've already come up with more ideas while disassociating from the meeting.

Great if their product is open source, but it’s not free.

I don’t answer those questions for free, sorry. πŸ˜‰ My only observation this far is CIOs and CFOs need to pause before reducing their IT budget because they believe the next new thing will save them money.

So the recent thesis or thought experiment was that AI would cause IT departments to stop spending so much on SaaS products. Now instead they need to spend on products to manage AI and AI agents. 🧐

CEOs are betting big on AI while barely using it New research surveying 6,000 executives finds AI hasn't disrupted jobs yetβ€”but they expect that to change.

If you're falling into the hype cycle but not using the tools, you not only risk getting it wrong, you're telling your team (yet again) "do what I say, not what I do."

If you're an engineering executive who can't spare the time to go hands on and learn that way -- and let's be clear, not everyone can -- humility makes a decent runner-up to expertise.

Know what you don't know, and don't be ashamed.

$300+ for a mid tier room in Arlington VA next week. Not long ago I used to criticize Boston hotels for thinking they could charge NYC rates.

I agree with you, but the dot-com boom was mostly harmless; just a bunch of ridiculous business ideas, grounded in the ideas of new expression or ways of doing business. Unlike the dot-com boom, AI execs are lousy at marketing their own stuff, and there's plenty of warnings and skepticism.

In the sense that it seems to me the architect who has that β€œaha” moment as they think differently struggles to get the rest of the team onboard with the new thinking.

Perhaps off topic but I notice engineering teams struggling to understand a shift in the mental model. Unsure how to make that better for them.

Four interactive prompts encourage body awareness, asking about sensations and needs, set against a dark background.

Four interactive prompts encourage body awareness, asking about sensations and needs, set against a dark background.

A break from the usual programming (pun intended).

Over the past few weeks I've been building something that has nothing to do with ML pipelines or developer tooling: a macOS menu bar app called Felt that sends gentle prompts throughout the day inviting you to notice what's happening in your body.
