This CVB album is in my personal top four for the year, and probably was regularly played by me more than any of the others at the top of the list in the years between then and now. I’m sure its not for everyone but I’d argue its the bands artistic peak. Vote CVB!

Today, it turns out I’m more in a Pogues mood. Vote P&L! Yes, it is less focused and glossier than “If I should fall…” (my fave) but I still love these songs and have the bonus nostalgia of remembering when and where I bought the physical cassette in Stratford Ontario on a HS trip in 1989.

Similarly, Peace and Love only had 14 tracks in 1989, so ignore the tacked on six songs on the expanded edition! They weaken the album imo. (I’m a fan of both contestants today and keep swapping votes in my head. Time for another listen to each!)

Why is it never one of the lists from the New Testament that they want to put up? Some good old “blessed are the peacemakers”, “love your neighbor”, “rich people, camels, needle’s eye etc” would be appropriate to honor were there any real Christians involved.
