Instead of astrobites where the blog authors are in-discipline readers of a paper written by someone else, something where the author of a paper writes their own publicly accessible explainer with an editor from a completely different discipline (or maybe not an academic at all) to sharpen the text.

I would like to see an academia blog where people from across disciplines can write posts targeted at an ~average high-school education audience.

If I'm lucky I can get a budget approved in time to start the visa process for a soft money situation at my current institution but that would require a lot of bureaucratic things to happen extremely quickly.

Going to really suck to send an email to STScI saying I can't put together a budget for my Cycle 33 proposal because I don't have a job/visa that will let me stay in the US to use that funding.

Even global news is now this unending torrent of baffling addled nonsense. Feel like being informed about the world is killing my brain.
