Kratom β A Win for Common Sense in Ohio. Governor DeWine tried to ban kratom by sending it to the Board of Pharmacy--then they both backed off. The meeting was canceled, and the ban stalled. This is a victory, not because of politeness β it happened because kratom advocates refused to stay silent.

Many headlines are spreading misinformation, claiming the federal government is βgoing after Kratom.β Focus is on 7OH, a semi-synthetic. If the FDA were truly targeting Kratom, would my wife have been welcomed to the HHS stage, an 11 yr daily consumer, to share the benefits of Kratom?

Kratom is NOT being federally banned. The concern is synthesized 7-OH, NOT kratom, else why would the Commissioner welcome an 11-year kratom consumer to the stage to speak about its benefits? I seriously donβt understand why people are saying that they are CRACKING DOWN on KRATOM---100% NOT TRUE.

The FDA is not targeting plain leaf kratom. What they are focused on are chemically altered products with high levels of 7-hydroxy mytragenine (7-OH); mostly lab-produced, acting as an opioid. Those are not natural kratom products, and they deserve scrutiny.

The FDAβs latest crackdown is focused on products loaded with synthetic or highly concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7βOH)βa powerful compound not found in natural kratom. That's what they should have done from the start, instead of conflating that with safe, natural Kratom.
