Kratom is NOT being federally banned. The concern is synthesized 7-OH, NOT kratom, else why would the Commissioner welcome an 11-year kratom consumer to the stage to speak about its benefits? I seriously don’t understand why people are saying that they are CRACKING DOWN on KRATOM---100% NOT TRUE.

The FDA is not targeting plain leaf kratom. What they are focused on are chemically altered products with high levels of 7-hydroxy mytragenine (7-OH); mostly lab-produced, acting as an opioid. Those are not natural kratom products, and they deserve scrutiny.

The FDA’s latest crackdown is focused on products loaded with synthetic or highly concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7‑OH)—a powerful compound not found in natural kratom. That's what they should have done from the start, instead of conflating that with safe, natural Kratom.

What would have been bad about, say, "Yes, officer, here's my license and registration....." I got stopped for no taillights. No fear or danger of getting punched, as I was prepared to respond with respect for the law.
