Would you be less distressed by the idea if only violent felonies got you disqualified? As I recall, Kavanaugh and Thomas were confirmed despite some egregious behavior. I'd personally feel better if they were found to be unsuitable.

All of your "instances" are interesting, and not very relevant, IFAIC. I'm still 100% in favor of banning convicted felons from the Presidency, although less so for other offices.

Scale and intent are good qualifiers - downloading a movie illegally is a minor offence when done once or even twice, but doing so to circumvent copyright laws and maybe make a buck or a million, sure that's a fine case for a felony.
