Get rid of the collars!!!

Everyone else has to good effect!

North America is one the of last places to still use these unnecessary torture devices that cause harm. Can’t believe your lawyers haven’t cottoned onto it - it’s outdated dogma

As a paediatrician, I urge Australians to be guided by scientific evidence when making decisions on medications | Mike Freelander Claims of a link between paracetamol use in pregnancy and autism have been repeatedly disproven – despite what the US administration suggests I have treated more than 200,000 patients in almost 40 years of practising medicine. Autism is a complex disorder which can present in many different ways and in a spectrum of severity. Causation is a very important consideration and, as a paediatrician, I know that parents often ask why their child has autism. Particularly in the severe end of the autism spectrum, genetic disorders can present with autistic features; for example Angelman syndrome, Smith-Magenis syndrome, Williams syndrome and many others. However, for the majority of the children who are diagnosed with autism, no cause is found. We also know that the number of children diagnosed with autism in the developed world is increasing. There are many reasons for this, not least that we are better at diagnosing it. However, in my work I often heard the question β€œwhy is my child autistic?” Continue reading...

We had the honour of being invited to speak about HIRAID at the Canadian National Emergency Nurses Association conference in Saskatoon.

Despite catastrophic bushfires in northern Saskatchewan, hundreds of emergency nurses from across Canada attended

My cousin had an arrest in recovery post cardioversion recently

He was resuscitated and is fine

His spouse’s response was to:

1. Do a CPR course
2. Buy a defibrillator
3. Make sure the neighbours (they live rurally) knew about and could access the defibrillator

When stuff happens, do +ve stuff

My photo shows an ancient wind intrument dated to the Upper Paleolithic period about 40,000 years ago. It is made from the radius bone of a swan (the thinner of the two long bones in a bird's wing). There are three finger holes. This wind instrument is usually referred to as a β€˜flute’. It is incomplete and has been carefully reconstructed from fragments. Dimensions: β€œThe maximum preserved length of flute‭ is ‬126.5‭ ‬mm, the possible length compared to the total length of a swans radius could have been 180‭ ‬to‭ ‬200‭ ‬mm. The asymmetrical diameter of the flute is 10.3‭ ‬x‭ ‬9.1‭ ‬mm”. Music bringing people together for millennia! πŸͺˆ 🎢

About 40,000 years ago, during the #IceAge, this flute was made from a swan’s wing bone. It is one of the World’s oldest known musical instruments!
