Mainer, husband, father, builder, and innovator. Running for governor to bring people together, solve the hardest problems we face, and build a better Maine.
How about we get together on lowering healthcare costs and after that we can duke it out on climate? Thatβs how Iβve gotten things done in my whole life. Using common sense and finding common ground, and getting things done as a result. Thatβs what Iβll do as governor.
13.10.2025 02:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Youβre not with me on how to fix the economy? Then letβs work together to make it easier than ever to build housing in Maine. We disagree on education? Why donβt we get to work on cutting red tape and making it easier to grow your business and create good jobs?
13.10.2025 02:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My old friend, the former leader of the Sportsmanβs Alliance of Maine George Smith once met a guy who told him "George, I think you and I disagree on just about 90% of things." Without missing a beat, George replied, "well then let's get to work on the 10%!" Letβs follow Georgeβs example.
13.10.2025 02:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was great to join the Washington County Democrats for a forum on some of the most important issues facing the state. I know things feel more divided than ever right now, but Iβm optimistic about Maineβs future.

By focusing both at the state level and the town level, working with people across the spectrum, whether itβs developers and lenders, town planners, all of those people really need to have a lot of help, a lot of support and a lot of encouragement in order for us to build more housing here in Maine.
19.09.2025 16:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Weβve got to do a better job of building housing. We really have made it quite hard here.
19.09.2025 16:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I won't argue with that headline.
Itβs true Iβve spent my life building things that solve problems in the most innovative ways. We need to do things in a fundamentally different way if we are going to tackle Maineβs biggest challenges.

Lucky to have picked a bluebird day to visit the Cranberry Isles Fishermen's Co-Op and hear from Bruce and the team there about bait prices, solar power, and having the most beautiful place to work you could imagine. Reminded me of my own summer as a sternman back in the day #BuildABetterMaine
15.09.2025 00:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of my greatest mentors always reminded us that it was important to βcontribute to the community woodpile.β There are plenty of ways to meet the spirit of that idea, and today we did it quite literally. Warms your muscles, warms your heart, and warms your neighborsβ homes.
13.09.2025 20:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If we want more renewable energy, if we want more affordable housing, we've got to figure out a way to make it easier for the people doing those things to get it in the ground and to get it operational.

βchoosing compassion over conflict, common ground over division, and the belief that together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.
11.09.2025 18:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βa spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, of differences set aside, of a nation bound together by shared purpose. That same spirit is what we need today. 11.09.2025 18:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On this solemn anniversary of September 11th, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders whose courage shone in our darkest hours. But we also remember the unity that carried us forward in the days and months that followed...
11.09.2025 18:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0In America, we can disagree. We should disagree. But political violence threatens the very heart of our Democracy. Weβve got to stop this.
My heart goes out to the Kirk family as they face this terrible tragedy.
For over 100 years MDIBL has been contributing research that creates talent, knowledge and cures for what ails us. Thanks to Jeri for a great tour. Maine has a life sciences story to tell, and we should make sure our labs grow and thrive. #Maine #BuildABetterMaine #MEpolitics @mdibiolab.bsky.social

Great to see John Holobetz (son of my old college classmate!) pitch five scoreless at the final regular season home game for the @portlandseadogs.bsky.social yesterday afternoon. Always a little sad to see the boys of summer leave town, but as every good fan says, wait βtil next year!
08.09.2025 14:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So here in Maine we're going to have to do all we can to protect and defend the incredible science that's happening here and all of the life sciences organizations that are making a difference in all of our lives. 03.09.2025 15:24 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0We have incredible world-leading science happening right here in Maine although they are all under duress becauseΒ of the cuts coming from President Trump and the attacks on science and research.

If we focus on housing, education, economic development, heathcareΒ - I think we're going to find that we have a ton in common. And if we focus with some common sense on those pieces, both the challenges we have in common, but also the hopes and aspirations we share, I think we can do really well.
02.09.2025 13:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've never once sat in a business meeting and said, "Okay, everyone who's a Republican sit on that side of the room. Everyone who is a Democrat sit on that side of the room. And I'm not going to listen to the people on that side of the room."
02.09.2025 13:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know we can do better and Iβm ready to work with all Mainers to build a better Maine.

And while we celebrate them, we have to recognize that life in Maine has become too hard for too many families.
Too many workers are paying half their income on housing, leaving almost nothing left for groceries, heat and health. Too many seniors are seeing costs rise and health care sites close.
