On almost everything – fraud, polarisation, radicalisation, misinformation – evidence suggests that over 60s are in much more urgent need of online protection and education than teenagers.

But that issue gets zero political attention, and is a total non-starter. Nothing good will come of it.

Guns, Germs and Steel in Africa: Jared Diamond and the limits of Geographic Determinism “African prehistory is a puzzle on a grand scale, still only partly solved.”

The terms ‘Khoe-San’ and ‘Bantu’ are both artificial words coined by linguists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to classify African languages

They were later institutionalized and racialized through colonial administration in South Africa

Massive hats off to everyone who dedicated their energy in the months after October 7th to attacking the UNRWA, discrediting the UN, and dismissing, sanctioning, intimidating the ICJ and ICC. Amazing work.

Membership is invitation-only, states don't get in through equal process. The term limits are three years, unless a state drops $1 billion in year one. The voting provisions are basically theatre.

Trump's threat to Greenland must be a wake-up call for Britain For too long our politicians have toadied to a dangerous president

There is a lot I disagree with Zack Polanski when it comes to national security, but he presents a rather more nuanced outline of Green foreign and defence policy in the New Statesman here. Note the rather Gaullist emphasis on a European defence alliance

National Review article excerpt. It reads: "On the other hand, when I hear some people accuse immigrants of destroying the American economy and culture and stealing jobs from American citizens, it stirs my anger, too. I can’t stand to hear immigrants described in terms more appropriate to a plague of locusts than human beings. And although I believe they are a small minority, I begin to wonder if some of the people who speak so disparagingly about immigrants would be just as worked up if most of them were coming from Canada."
