the fact that people going through very difficult times said she kept them going made me cry.

i hope she’s happy and racing with the other horses again. i hope she knows just how much people loved her. as a race horse, a little granny, and now forever as an game character.

u-chan is my favorite uma. shes silly and cute and sweet. i finally got her to win first place in the career mode just the other day.

her story touched me in that she kept trying despite every loss and hearing that she kept a very vibrant and happy energy around her when she’d race made me happy.

like i’ve never been this invested in horses

i never really cried over IRL animals, only movies and such.

but man, learning about silence suzuka, rice shower, and haru urara really did something to me. i can’t think about silence suzuka without tearing up.

i’m going Through It™️ right now with the passing of U-Chan

Two months ago, I was vaguely aware that Umamusume based their characters on real race horses.
One month ago, I was happy to hear about fans buying Haru Urara lots of grass to eat.
Today, tears are flowing at the news of Urara's passing.

Thank you for inspiring us, Urara.

It's funny to think that two months ago I'd never heard of any Japanese horses.

And now I'm genuinely saddened to hear that one that was very special to a games community has passed away.

Rest in Peace Haru Urara. You always did your best

haru urara the real life horsie got to enjoy retirement with lots of tasty grass that jumped in quantity thanks to growing international fanbase AND got to run and win(!!!) in low pressure races for fun before passing after a career of nonstop losses and i’m fine just crying about it
