This morning a OneBC MLA introduced a Bill in our Legislature to repeal the Human Rights Code.
We voted it down.
The BC Conservatives voted in favour of a debating a Bill that would rip away human rights for millions of British Columbians.
These protections should not be up for debate.

Always great to spend time with Mayor Tom Dyas and his team from the @cityofkelowna.bsky.social. I appreciate his continued advocacy for creating safer communities throughout the Okanagan, including his recent presentation to the Justice and Human Rights Committee in Ottawa in favour of Bill C-14.

Iβm wearing pink today as a reminder that building a province where every student feels safe and valued requires action. Bullying and discrimination have no place in British Columbia, and we must continue working to ensure every young person feels they belong π©·

Explore QMUNITYβs low-barrier mental health and social services, where queer, trans, and Two-Spirit people can find connection, autonomy, and support.
I appreciate their continued collaboration with us, especially on the legal clinic to provide free guidance on employment, family, tenancy, human rights, ID support & more. This clinic is vital, accessible, queer-affirming space so those who need it can get these resources in a safe & supportive way

The drivers licensing system in BC needs to work for everyone. Weβre creating a simpler, more accessible process, while maintaining high safety standards on our roads. These changes will help new drivers build safe behaviours and reduce barriers to earning a full licence.

BIG NEWS! π
Today I introduced legislation that will let people renew most licences or replace lost or damaged cards online through ICBC. This will save you time & reduce lineups, making it more convenient for people across BC to access ICBC services, especially those in rural & remote communities.

Iβm encouraged to see that Bill C-14 has passed through the House of Commons recently. Iβm looking forward to the Senate passing this Bill soon to make these changes law. This legislation will ensure offenders are held accountable & give us new tools to support victims & address public safety issues

Canadians and British Columbians are coming together, we are united as we stand with Tumbler Ridge and each other, in grief and in support.
That is who we have to be.
We can't this tragedy be exploited to attack Trans and queer people.

This morning I spoke with Ryan Price at CFAX about how BC is leading the way in keeping children safe online, but there is so much more we could be doing. Thatβs why I am calling for federal online safety legislation, so we ensure we have the best tools possible to protect our kids from online harms
