Second point is to say that I am trying to develop a measure to understand adoptee quality of life for 16-25 age group, but I don't think this can be done without talking to adoptees older than that. If it turns out there is a lot more that needs to be considered, I will have to adapt the method.

Yes of course. I also reject the "adoption triangle" and any notion that each side has to "resolve" itself to the other. Focus group training session yesterday with Sheffield's Voice & Influence team & members of our Involvement Group. We were aiming to create a space where people could express diverse perspectives and have different ways to take part. Lots of zines and collage, plus great discussions & facilitation.

Anyone got any concrete idea what this means? How will they improve involvement? Parent peer advocacy?

Yesterday, Greater Manchester approved free travel passes for young people who have experienced care up until the age of 25.

Through devolution, important progressive steps continue to be made.

I agree the idea's very far removed from what social workers are trying to do. As someone who's spent many a Saturday afternoon holding a placard, I feel like I get why someone might be angry & want to do something! Also I identify with anger about rising child removal rates.

I'd have probably stopped and talked to them, because behind the off-the-wall conspiracy theories may be some genuinely inexplicable experiences of child removal. SWs are so disconnected from the people we serve & the child welfare system can defy the logic of "support", so I'm not surprised.
