No real progressive would risk letting a Republican win by refusing to vote, especially with the SCOTUS majority on the ballot or when the choice is between a liberal & a fascist.

It used to refer to people who were to the left of mainstream liberals, but shared many of their legislative goals, such as UHC, and understood the importance of voting pragmatically rather than having purity tests.
