not sure if i have gay guy pop fan blindness or what, but it feels like "midnight sun" is an early contender for song of the summer. like, i truly see its popularity just getting bigger and bigger in the lead up to the summer (and the emergence of the "stateside" remix is only gonna help)

Rich people used to be patrons of the arts, building extravagant theaters to show movies, theatre, and opera. Now they’re annoying business majors with zero creativity or capacity for taste, and I hope one day they all realize how pitiful they are

I can't emphasize enough that the idea of a Paramount-WB merger producing 30-40 movies a year is an absurd fiction. First WB will become the "classy" label within Par (which is only about Rescue Rangers, Scream and existing IP). Then it will become the specialty or streaming label. Then it will die.

I understand the instinct to donate to orgs that are helping trans folks flee red states but let's not forget about the orgs that are still fighting for trans folks in red states.

For those who are hesitant about the validity of this or thinking it’s limited to major cities, I’ll say that I eavesdropped on some teenagers in a Barnes & Noble when I was visiting my suburban home town in Texas a few months ago, and one said, β€œYeah, DVDs are back in, I’m so happy,” so I have hope

Life Within the Lens Celebrates Black Filmmaking | Features | Roger Ebert On a program this week at the Music Box in Chicago that spotlighted filmmaking for Black History Month.

Last night I went to the @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social to see LIFE WITHIN THE LENS, a rich programme curated by Tyler Balentine that featured seven shorts by Black creatives.

KPop Demon Hunters, I believe, will be a great β€œentry point” movie for many younger film enthusiasts, who’s curiosity may be sparked by what the company (and physical media) have to offer. The more I think about it, the more I support the release

underrated aspect of this: some kids might get to see special features about how movies are made

still think Frankenstein was pretty bad, Demon Hunters is a surprise for many reasons (but in my opinion, a welcome one), giggling and kicking my feet at zero mention of Tr**n Dr**ms 🀭

β€˜KPop Demon Hunters,’ Guillermo del Toro’s β€˜Frankenstein’ Joining Criterion Collection (EXCLUSIVE) 'KPop Demon Hunters' and Guillermo del Toro’s 'Frankenstein' are two of Netflix's award season films that are joining the Criterion Collection.

As someone who’s been collecting Criterion for about a decade, I won’t lie, it’s pretty fun to watch studios during awards season go β€œYou know what would entice voters? A very nice Blu-ray edition” variety.com/2026/film/ne...

This is a really good debate format for like 50 different reasons, but especially at this moment. There's a lot of equivocating over stuff that is not that complicated.

This one is a HUUUGE deal to me - only the second Fred and Ginger on Blu-ray AND it’s restored from the original negative, something many RKO films can’t say
