This is a nice capsule history of what is itself a capsule history of the way neoliberalism descended into what we used to call populism, but now recognize as white supremacy trying to cover its tracks.

The assumption in both book and article is that Dems deserve power, and we should focus on the messaging that will return them to office rather than the policies that could convince a beleaguered electorate that they’re worth voting for. Which is basically a recipe for another GOP victory in 2026.
