My blood is made of fire It's pulsing through my veins Igniting my flesh And filling me with pain I squeeze my muscles tight Causing the gore to ignite It burns so bright under my flesh Dancing and shimmering deep inside I want to dig it out and dissect it I want to see the why for it all Yet the fear paralyses me When the fire recedes I cry out for help, screaming 'My blood is made of fire, I cannot speak or move when it burns' They scoff, call me delusional Tll me that it is impossible Dismissed while I know tomorrow The pyre will be stacked and ignited The fire will burn in my blood again The smoke will choke my voice The comforter will not smother the blaze

Here's my daily bit of #poetry / #writing . This poem, called 'Chronic Blaze', is all about my chronic pain and what that looks like on both good and bad days.
