I really believe covid is causing a violent shift in hormones for women and causing their perimenopause symptoms to skyrocket. It’s the equivalent of putting gasoline on embers.

And perimenopause is very real.

RFK Jr. pulls $500 million in funding for vaccine development The Department of Health and Human Services plans to cancel contracts and pull funding for some vaccines being developed to fight respiratory viruses like COVID-19 and the flu.

In the midst of a pandemic, the Trump administration and the American public demanded a vaccine.

Scientists rose to the occasion, producing them and delivering them to the people in record time, saving the lives of 3.2 million Americans.

RFK Jr. has just ended all funding for these vaccines.

Conversely, my partner always thinks his blood pressure is good when it’s usually way too high.

I guess my point is that most of us has no clue what’s happening in our bodies.

I thought I felt like my blood pressure was high, so I checked it and it was 108/69.

I like to think of myself as being so self-aware that I can recognize if my blood pressure is high, but clearly that’s not the case. 1/

Thank you!

I know aging is a gift, but it can also be so cruel too. And it was so hard to witness the cruelty of it after 11+ years while simultaneously trying to hold space for the gift too.

I cry at the drop of a hat these days and I can rarely control it.

So don’t mind me. Just over here crying yet again.

But even with the very heavy emotional weight of everything, I’m so glad they came to visit me. I know they won’t be able to make that kind of trip again. And I know I need to visit them sooner rather than later.

My stepmom is 85 and was just diagnosed with dementia. I found this out a few days before the visit via a text from my sister. My dad never once mentioned it or told me directly.

And seeing my stepmom’s cognitive decline was heartbreaking and devastating.

My dad drove him and my stepmom from Illinois to Washington State to see me for my birthday. We hadn’t seen each other in over 11 years. I cried so much, but it definitely wasn’t all happy tears.

Rage.

Why care about older women? If we can’t give birth than we are worthless.

I’m just forever blown away by hormones and how they affect us all. And how a virus can irrevocably eff up our hormones.

I know women’s health isn’t a priority.

I also remember in 2021 when they said the covid vaccines could temporarily mess with a woman’s cycle. But the infection itself is absolutely causing many women to jumpstart menopause.

In the past couple of weeks I’m seeing more posts on Reddit about hormones and covid, specifically the interconnections.

One post said HRT took away her Long Covid symptoms.

Another asked if Covid kickstarted perimenopause.

I didn’t stop biting my nails until April 1st, 2023.
