More observer than commentator. Here to absorb and pass on. Long covid/CFS has altered my life dramatically. It sucks.

The fact that this horrible behavior came from a nurse just demonstrates why us chronically ill folks also have a hard time getting safe and effective healthcare treatment.

Just the sheer amount of bullshit we have to deal with.

So the UK now has a "Labour" government that is simultaneously supporting a genocide in Palestine, bombing Yemen, imprisoning climate protestors, and imposing austerity on their own citizens. Got it πŸ‘

Please don’t tell someone clinically vulnerable to get on with your life. It’s ableist and upsetting when many of us are struggling to find protection from vaccines and antivirals. Our government doesn’t care about vulnerable people. Not vaccinating me means I’m much more likely to end up 🧡

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work.

The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty.

I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the gov’t to rethink

We are in the midst of what many consider the most promising pancreatic cancer cure research in decades. This is literally joining the War on Cancer on the side of cancer. It's happening in multiple departments. They're also attacking mRNA fax science which is the heart of the possible breakthrough.

For years, folks looked the other way as millions died or became disabled by Covid. They shouted β€œyour health is not my responsibility” or β€œonly the vulnerable” were at risk.

This callous disregard for human life has desensitized us. It helped pave the way for the current atrocities.

Maybe it’s because I’m not a newspaper columnist but I genuinely cannot fathom how you can actually think β€œthis guy is a misogynist, racist, and a sexual predator, but he’s right about trans people” without any self-reflection on whether you might be wrong about us

Hi @jonathandaviesmp.bsky.social I’m one of your constituents & I’d really like you to watch this please. Like Darren, I’m stuck with Long Covid & would like to be able to discuss the challenges we’re facing at a surgery if that’s possible? You’re also welcome to attend our Derby LC patient group.

20 years working as a Learning Disability Nurse for the #NHS.

My livelihood gone, my role in life gone, my ability to help others gone.

Long Covid ruins lives.

Covid mortality 70% higher than predicted to Aug in 2024. Note higher than the baseline of ongoing expected deaths. Do we have any reliable stats about Long Covid yet @markbutlermp.bsky.social? If you won't contemplate the human cost, can you at least look at the economic cost? #covid #LongCovid

When will Labour properly support people with #LongCovid and invest what is needed into research for treatments?

The Green Party have a plan, why haven't the government?

Last year, my health insurance company stopped paying for my Humira. Humira is a type of immunosuppressive drug called a biologic, and I take a pretty high dose of it to control my severe Crohn's Disease. Without it, I will have a bowel obstruction, and then I will die.

I need some people to admit they were wrong; masking, esp targeted masking (healthcare) is an effective way to mitigate Covid and long Covid. Particularly the non-experts with influential platforms who were so vocal about dropping masks. #CovidIsNotOver #WearAMask #SaltingTheVibes #SomeoneYouLove
