Rafayel didn’t pull away, letting the apron fall loose first, fingers moving without thought as he slipped it over his head and set it aside, like clearing space for something that mattered more. Then his arms came around Aster properly, one hand settling at his back, the other threading up +

“My phone died,” he admitted softly, eyes searching his face, guilt slipping through despite himself. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I should’ve thought... I just got lost in work.” His thumb brushed absently at his sleeve apologetically. “I’m not gone. I’m not leaving.”Rafayel exhaled, forehead

Rafayel startled at the sound of the door, brush pausing mid-air as he turned. The moment he saw him, soaked in worry more than rain,something in his chest tightened hard. “Hey… hey,” he said quickly, setting the brush down. “I’m here. I’m right here.” His voice was calm, as he walked over to him.
