Nurse Officers in U.S. Public Health Services have a wide-range of responsibilities, according to our study published in Nursing Outlook that describes this workforce, their roles, and the utility of βjob functionβ questions for measuring the broader public health nursing workforce.

In a survey & interviews with home care workers, our team heard about a number of benefits offered - often temporarily - during the pandemic. Unions played an important role in obtaining these benefits. Providing these benefits, including paid sick leave, is critical for health workforce retention.
