you're right on this. I just wanted to believe better. better to look like a dumbass for a bit (though I was wary- I said she was going to have to do a lot), than to slam the door shut on someone who might be changing.

Some of this attitude of mine is due to family trauma. I want to be forgiving, open, and trusting- things the fash took from my family.

It's good advice, I just want folks to change. Never said it was going to be free forgiveness, she was going to have to do a lot of work. I just know the way these things work that folks don't often get a 2nd chance.

Brianna has a lot of work to do on herself and a lot to make up for. Despite everything I'd rather her succeed in that work than fail. I understand why most won't ever forgive and maybe they are right. I want to believe in hope even for her though

I'll just say if we believe in restorative justice it's not just crimes but believing wrong things, provided one does the work and is willing to show lessons are being learned

On the whole Brianna wu realizing she was wrong. It's fine not to forgive. She did a lot of harm. If she does the work and truly changes that is a good thing though. I'd rather be a sucker than keep a door shut on someone willing to change. That's just me though

Not everyone will be willing to forgive. It will take work with me. A lot because you were way gone and sunk cost fallacy is a pit. You are going to have to face some uncomfortable truths and make hard change. It can be done

I had you blocked because of this. If you truly realize you were wrong and the harm you did, please listen to us. I do believe forgiveness is possible but realize you have a long journey that won't be easy. I will wish for your success on this path.

It's rare often because we don't forgive. It's a judgement call whether we should but I would be willing.
