Prime Minister Carney launches new Major Projects Office to fast-track nation-building projects Today, the Prime Minister, Mark Carney, launched the new Major Projects Office (MPO). The MPO is headquartered in Calgary and will have offices in other major Canadian cities.

The Office will also have expert advice of an Indigenous Advisory Council, to be announced next month. See below for more, and stay tuned in the coming months as we start to identify, with investors and partners, potential nation-building projects. www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/news...

These projects need to have financing structured and co-ordinated, and they need to have regulatory approval processes done faster. The Major Projects Office will support doing both.

We took a major step in that work today: we announced the creation of the Major Projects Office, to help fast-track nation-building projects — protecting Canada’s rigorous environmental standards and upholding the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

It's going to take a lot of work to re-orient our economy now that the United States is not the reliable trading partner we used to depend on. We have to connect with each other, and with trading partners around the world.

As @mark-carney.bsky.social says, we can give ourselves more than any foreign government can take away -- if we work hard together to build One Canadian Economy together. That will create more good jobs, and funds the the social safety net we rely on. That work is more important than ever
