Not since I actually started paying attention. It was kind of nice when I thought healthcare reform was gonna be a real thing back in 2009.

It starts with sudden, extralegal deportations, moves to murders of Latinos in the Caribbean, and what's next? People are standing idly by being sure they're not next because it's Them being arrested and murdered, and clearly They are criminals. Classic American thoughtless racism.

These murders in the Caribbean aren't taking place in a vacuum. Immigrants are being deprived of due process every day. Those who are deemed too far to the left politically are very likely the next convenient target (see NSPM-7). This admin has criminalized opposition and non-whiteness.

Due process is now out of style. This is more worrying than I think the average person knows. Judges without ethics can override judges with ethics, and any political affiliation or ethnicity that doesn't match with who the government values or trusts is reason enough to eliminate all their rights.

This is the one I go to when talking about the edge The Onion can have.

Very few journos dare to question the logic behind "narco-terrorism" as the cardinal belief of the Trump admin's defense community right now. There isn't any. It's a nonsensical term, made to justify any action they'd like to take in Latin America. We can't take these people at their word.

Hard not to look at coverage of Hegseth's "narco-terrorism" strategy and wonder how much sympathy the media actually has for the over 87 people murdered opposed to finding Trump's erratic behavior to be a subject that gets clicks.

Would love to have the optimism that Republicans will view the Caribbean strikes as war crimes or extrajudicial murder, but so far there are a lot of GOP congressmen who are making excuses. The Democrats seem to still not realize that we're playing Calvinball, but Trump is making up the rules.
