Session2 is a happening!!

17 game tables here in the Main Hall, 4 more in the Quiet Rooms and of course the Never Ending Gory table!!!

So look out for the NEVER ENDING GORY table in the Main Hall.
It will be running from early in the day until late in the evening both Sat and Sun.

Play with friends. Make alliances. Break alliances. The important thing is to land the killing blow for those delicious Kill Points!!

Rack em up!!

It's really that simple!

Not only that, but the two people who record the highest Kill Point score on both days will each get a prize!

No pre-booking is required, if a seat is free then take it.

It's marvellous fun. At least until your own PC loses enough HP to become a irresistible target 😀

The NEG table is a walk-in, sit down and get a killing table.
Step 1 - take an empty seat.
Step 2 - take a random 3rd level character sheet.
Step 3 - Kill kill kill!

You get points for every Boss, Minion or PC you kill and you keep going until your dead.
Tally up your score and then repeat 1-3

Picture the scene, all the options at #AthCon4 has you thrown all your time management skills in the bin. You barely know what day it is let alone what hour and you find yourself short of precious hours but with a yearning deep in your soul to roll dice at table with your friends.

And kill them.

#AthCon4 has sooooooo many things to get excited about; RPGs, LARP, awesome vendors, creative workshops, mesmerising panels, talk, merch and so much more!

It's hard to pick out one thing....but

THE NEVER ENDING GORY table has me super-excited!

What is this? I hear you all ask.
Well attend I say..

#AthCon4 is the first time we are including LARP on the schedule and the Committee are really excited with this addition.

Good news is that you can join any LARP game without using up your game ticket allocation. So no excuses!

Sign up on the day but advance is better as allows GMs more prep.

Our 3rd LARP is a biggie with no less than 3 GMs as Oisìn, Rory and Rowan share the storytelling duties in Seven Rivers.

Could the appearance of a comet signal the end to a centuries old conflict? Or are there still those amongst us who see violence as the only way forward? Who will win out??

Second game, Saturday evening sees GM Jude run Memories of Escape. Set in modern era the players all wake up in some sort of bomb shelter the door of which has a countdown clock.
Who are you? Who are these others and how the hell did you get here??

Perfect for beginners with a great GM!

Based on The Dark Forest LARP this game involves diplomacy, alliances, trading and occasional war!

But not actual war! I was relieved (and maybe a tad disappointed) to lean that all our LARPs are non-contact so you don't actually hit people with swords!

The good news is that new to #AthCon4 we've 3 great games for those LARPers and LARP curious among us to choose from!

First up GM Sìofra during Session 2 has Nothing Beside Remains. In this one you take on the role of several generations of a forest tribe as you to build up your society!

Now I'll be upfront and honest here and tell you that my knowledge of LARPing is pretty much limited to that time Mark went along in Peep Show! 😀

I'll also be upfront and honest and tell you that I am curious as to what this whole slightly crazy world of LARP is about!

So when the dust had finally settled on AthCon3 the committee members met and discussed #AthCon4.

"Let's make it bigger and better!" they said.
"Bigger and better then the greatest Con ever! Are you having a laugh??" I said.
"No!" they shrieked, "but we are having a LARP!"

Much hilarity ensued.

Well wonder no more as GM Gavin is offering you the chance to party at the Festival of the Gods in honor of Freyja, Freyr and Sol.

I think we can assume that at some stage festivities get a tad out of hand but you're 20th Level, what have you really got to worry about?

I think this may be the last RPG game tweet, LARPs will follow when I catch my breath!
Having gone thru over 100 games (madness!!) it is maybe fitting that the last one is from my very first GM! I won't embarrass either of us with the 'when' but can tell you that the year began with a 19!!

A unique and haunting gaming experience awaits guided by a pretty special GM!

GM Declan, he of D8 Dungeon fame, invites us all to his Session 4 game (that's Sunday 10am) In Memoriam using the We Have Lost game system.

The Empress is dead. Her closest friends and confidants have gathered to remember her. Tales are told of the past but the Empire must look to the future.

Despite the spooky non dancing ghost this game, both system and content wise, is suitable for all ages and all levels of experience.

You will have to get to early tho as it's a Session 4 game, so that means a 10am Sunday kick off!!

Not all ghosts are friendly. And very few of them dance.

In GM Emmett's CAIN system game we get a ghost that does neither.

In CAIN you play part of an elite team tasked with hunting down supernatural beings that have gone bad.
This one is the spirit of a gambler, dragging others down with him!

Deathbringer is like a fast(er) and furious(erer) version of 5e. With rules trimmed down to make combat move a bit quicker.

This game will have elements of horror so it's only really suitable for those of 18 years and older.

Victor Frankenstein's wife to be is worried about his recent behaviour. On top of that there are rumours of a strange creature haunting the city, a city that is struggling to contain a cholera plague.

Yeah things are just going swimmingly!

Now you have to figure out a way across the lake and then of course find a way up into the cloud on which the library is perched, but hey this is 5e!!

I'm not fully sure what the librarians working in the library floating on a cloud in GM Jude's 4th level 5e D&D game look like. But i think there's a fair chance they look like these dudes!
