This is the UK’s 'equality' regulator.

Trans voices are not important enough for the EHRC to keep a record of what was said. This should be a headline in all the papers.

She had to do that after the GMC suspended her licence, although part of what they got her on was her record-keeping. They are patient-lead, so if you know what you want and are well enough, it works OK. I can see it working less well for complex cases and if you’re less strong, or can’t afford it.

"Service providers may lawfully allow trans women to use women’s facilities without being forced to open them to cis men" and "the EHRC’s exclusionary draft Code of Practice does not accurately reflect the law and the Minister will have to send it back to be rewritten."

The Supreme Court has fundamentally undermined the Equality Act. The judges blatantly lied about “painstakingly” reviewing the Act for inconsistencies. They did not.

The damage is so severe that only a complete rewrite of the legislation can properly restore its purpose and effectiveness.

It’s in how people interact with me in a way that feels right. An openness because they perceive that I’m comfortable and happy in who I am, when they could see the disconnect and discomfort before.

Trans joy is a feeling of liberation that I can walk out of my front door without having to hide who I am, or dress a certain way, or make a mental check that I conform to a gender that doesn’t belong to me. It’s freedom, pride, rightness, simplicity, happiness. Less noise in my head. 🌸
