I really don't have a lot of hope for the show, but the setup for the next set of fights seem really fun

Anyhow it was crazy seeing the news about Iran while I was getting ready for a friend's wedding out of state

It's late but here's some new years resolutions I have:
- Get into running (going well)
- More focused improvement in melee
- Get through media backlog
- Write more - notes and reviews (related to two points above)

i started running this year

it felt like a humiliation ritual when i did it in school as the fat kid, but it's 2026 and i am the reclaimer

it's actually felt quite good so far so definitely hoping to keep it up for the rest of the year

I keep throwing away $10 by entering uni2 brackets at majors like im going to practice or play in any capacity leading up LOL

i.e. "Hi guys, did you know this is Estelle Bright. She's a bracer from Liberl who was greatly involved in the Aureole incident" etc. etc. I think every now and again is fine, but I think it's okay for some people in the story to not know who other people are

So I think having exposition to fully flesh out characters and a setting and bind them to a story and its central themes is very good and important to some of the best stories ever told. When it gets excessive imo is when Falcom specifically is trying to reintroduce returning things to new players

I think a lot of RPGs have the problem of underexplaining setting, characters, and themes and most Trails games (especially the longer the series has gone on) have the opposite problem

It's really, really good. I love the way the characters interact with present day things like historical artifacts, kind of like they're reflecting of human history leading up to its conclusion.

This episode so good LOL tho Ive said the same about most episodes Ive seen in the rewatch

Calling it surrealist theater is so key, cuz this presentation is also how they present the themes of the show related to gender roles and abusive relationships

Rewatching utena and this show is so incredible when you realize to what degree everyone is FUCKING LYING

Really appreciated all the different sci fi stories the story takes clear inspiration, including notably the last twist of the story rofl

But also it really started losing steam as the character stories finished and the ending was p unsatisfying imo
