NEW | Two days ago, I published a deep exploration of the South Carolina prison system. Today, inmate Stephen Bryant decided he wants to be executed in South Carolina on Nov. 14 by firing squad. He would be the seventh person to be executed here since September 2024.

Three people want to be mayor of South Carolina's state capital for the next four years. Our #scpol endorsement went live on @thestate.com today. It will run in Sunday's The State. So vital to vet those who would represent us.
