Sadly, not only are the #USA and #Israel not signatories to the Rome Statute, the US passed a specific law against the ICC's mandate and jurisdiction. Plus the #ICC has still not properly integrated the Crime of Aggression into its business, and no cases based on it have ever been initiated. #Iran

Or supporting actions that are illegal under both US and international law. One could also point out that the Iranian nuclear program was restricted until Trump abandoned the earlier agreement.

Flavor Flav offers to host Vegas celebration for U.S. women’s hockey team The United States’ Olympic gold medal-winning hockey team might not be attending Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, but they still could get their victory celebration.

No offence to Denver but I’d probably pick Vegas with Flavor Flav instead.

Tell me why you're considering watching SOTU and I'll suggest a novel to read instead.

Kinda amazing that Trump shits on Canada and Mexico every day, and there's the Mexican-American captain of Canada's Toronto Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews, standing behind him as he defiles an Olympic Gold Medal

He hates your mother and your fans Auston Matthews but - you do you: be a collaborator

We welcome the BC Human Rights Commissioner's “Un(media)ted: Report of the Inquiry into the exclusion of media from the April 2023 Hastings decampment.” It asks the CAJ to develop training on press freedom for law enforcement. We've made this offer in the past. It's a challenge we gladly accept.

The New Economics of the NHL The paper finds that Canada can likely support 12 NHL teams—double the current number of Canadian franchises. Southern Ontario can support two more teams—one new team in the Greater Toronto Area and a...

Just a reminder that Canadian fans massively subsidize American NHL teams. Just thinking about that today...

The NHL is a massive re-distribution scheme that extracts money from Canadians and sends those funds to unsuccessful southern American businesses.

A Thunder Bay police officer crossed his superior, calling out behaviour that a court of law has found to be "militantly illegal."

This is the story of how the police fought back and suppressed that story.

Dear Canadian media: It is highly probable that Donald Trump will say something offensive and unhinged about Canada at the SOTU today. Can we please, for once, not take the bait? We have limited resources and he’s causing so many other harms that deserve more public attention. Don’t feed the trolls.

Backlash mounts to Bafta N-word controversy as Jamie Foxx and Wendell Pierce criticise outburst Foxx calls Tourette syndrome activist John Davidson’s shouts at the film awards ceremony ‘unacceptable’, while Sinners’ production designer criticises Bafta’s ‘throwaway’ apology

"Black people are just supposed to be ok with being disrespected and dehumanised so that other people don’t feel bad.”

The BAFTA response and half-hearted apology were terrible, especially "if you were offended."

"A reminder that, when CBC’s Andi Petrillo, Anastasia Bucsis and Kurt Browning talk about what a lovely evening it is in Verona for this closing ceremony, they’re not actually there. The commentating for all of the sports during these Games – except for hockey – was done remotely out of CBC’s headquarters in Toronto, a practice that began with the 2020 (postponed to 2021) and 2022 Games because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has endured because of budget restraints."
