I've managed to embrace "elderly" mentality and it honestly has helped. 😅 I'm 41 now and just like "Hell yeah, bring it on."

It probably helps that my life is constantly improving. My life is undoubtedly better than it was 10 years ago, and it was better 10 years ago than it was 10 before that.

Some people have a mid-life crisis and buy a fancy new car. Others just decide to finally transition.

Not sure which will turn out more expensive, in the end.

But that's how we got to "you have to have the disc in" CDs that they made harder to copy, all the way up to modern "always online" games with little to no actual online features.

This was back when their efforts to combat piracy involved having you look up a specific word on a specific page of the game manual, so in order to pirate it properly, you'd also need to photocopy the manual.

Which people definitely did do, including my dad.

In most settings, Tiamat is a goddess, so technically not a valid warlock patron... but in mine, she's a mortal archdevil, which works out great.

In fancy script, it reads: This serves as the written version of the contract between the Archdevil Tiamat the Avaricious, Queen of all Chromatic Dragons, Many-Mawed Nemesis of the Gods (“Tiamat”) and the black dragonborn known as Orlox Immidia (“Orlox”). This contract is magically binding, and will remain in effect even if this written version is destroyed. In brief, Tiamat agrees to provide magical power to Orlox, and to avoid harming him, any descendants he may one day have, and the plane he calls home, as detailed below. In return, Orlox agrees to serve Tiamat, to the best of his ability, as long as it does not violate his Oath of Vengeance to Alexandra. Orlox is bound by this contract as follows. He will follow orders given to him by Tiamat, so long as those orders do not violate his Oath of Vengeance to Alexandra.
