Tbf that's about how gamergate started.
Though 4chan, 8chan, reddit and random blogs do have admittedly low expectations even for the standards of monkey typists.

To be fair to them, that's not really a cognitive dissonance or a psychological shift of goalposts.

Their real target/desire/will was always much worse, it's just that until now they couldn't say it loud and they just stuck with pushing whatever "sanitized" version of a wedge issue ADF had come up.

When you use chatGPT for everything
YouTube video by NunninkComedy When you use chatGPT for everything

Some of it is the financial aspect ofc and the corporate FOMO of the next big thing. Also deranged CEOs.
But I'd put most of the blame on the million of deficient people that somehow need to ask AI even whether to wipe their ass (and you don't see them on bsky, but if you check the average boomer..)

*follow-up to the AI articles say it wasn't spotify (why would they?) but some glitch with copyright tagging
*it peddles the BS of lossless audio
*it feels so odd to underline just how much artists deserve ๐Ÿ’ฐ, and then suggest jf? (which I love, but come on.. piracy is a must to ๐Ÿ”ˆ anybody mainstream)

04.12.2025 03:46 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's bunk?
*it promotes services without a family/student plan (that is why they pay more than anybody else)
*it conflates ad-supported and premium-only services (that is the only reason they pay the least)
*ICE is EVERYWHERE that runs an ad network
*Ek investing is not the company doing it

I mean.. it's called "value" for a reason after all.
And so many apples and oranges could be compared if you could normalize them to $ (say the price for a carbon tax could be the one of QALY lost).

The problem with these douches is that for the life of theirs they are unable to comprehend empathy.

03.12.2025 23:31 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I doubt, and even more so if you then want to make the comparison with no russian?
"Bomb the bad guys that want to use nukes" for you is a celebration of business/war as usual.
"Kill civilians [to then kill nuke baddies] in something so on the nose that MAYBE even a nazi could see the problem" is ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

Ehrm.. I don't want to blow up your intriguing reasoning, BUT the Spectre mission is part of the SAS plot line and it takes place somewhere in the northern parts of european russia.

Maybe you could criticize the middle-eastern campaign for actually involving WMDs, but gunning ultranationalists is ๐Ÿค—

Yeah, lol.
My grandpa would lowkey say that if you:
* come home (or worse, went somewhere) after dark
* sleep in the same room of a member of the opposite sex
* got engaged with a close acquaintance of an ex of yours (i.e. there could be no plausible deniability of you not having ever fucked anyone)

03.12.2025 16:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I mean, couldn't you boil it down to "every kind of demographic category I don't identify with could (and should?) die because zero-sum world and maybe I also get off on suffering"?

That guy literally repurposed a 2000s partisanship questionnaire, pretended religious framing was morality, then proceeded to whitewash conservatives until they went nazi.
Now he's trying so hard for you to blame everything and everybody for the malaise of youth but decades of republican policies.

All articles point back to the rolling stone one. Though while that only notes that oddly enough even servers aren't innocent (and they give some number) a trainload of disingenuous second hand slop made *that* the main scoop as if AI did it and not decades of redneck fuckit attitudes (see LWT clip)

02.12.2025 07:44 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's so wild to get click-baited this easily.

Data centre water usage is a drop in the bucket compared to the meat industry, let alone that it's also nothing compared to the amount of deregulation, stupidity and anarchy in agriculture.

You know, the one doing the pollution here in the first place.

01.12.2025 21:34 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You see, the freedom is always their own. So if there are negative consequences for their BS that's chilling of their godgiven right to made it the fuck up and then feel good about it.

01.12.2025 21:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No, as its "storage of value" capacity is only partially based on hopium, and unless you are going to a desert island with no technology it will always have real concrete applications that make it *needed*.

01.12.2025 17:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The fact that the "value" is just made out of ripping off the money future people will decide to put into the ponzi scheme, kinda actually makes everyone involved in the puff dream (at least post 2018).. If not criminals at least morally bankrupt.

YouTube video by LastWeekTonight Water: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

There aren't enough words in the world to express just how fuuuuuuuuuuuucked water management is in the US of A.
This besides even the fact that it's the most stupid meat-fixated country in the world, and the least "giving fucks about the environment" (see the dutch nitrogen crisis for the opposite)

A Drop in the Bucket: Comparing the Water Footprint of AI and The Cattle Industry - Bryant Research How much water does AI actually use? And how does it stack up against water-hungry beef and dairy?

That data center cooling can squeeze up the molar concentration of nitrates by 4 times is an interesting factoid to know... but it's still quibbles compared to agricolture?
Just alfalfa in a few US states consumes 20 times the needs of all the servers *in the world*. Idk why the focus isn't farmers.

Safer probably all in all?
Even if the number of extortion attempts was the same of those that used to happen "offline" back in the day (which I'm highly skeptical of), remote blackmail is far less qualitatively oppressing than somebody physically in front of you. Especially if you aren't a big guy.

Aren't those 3 big ass permissions a bit too much just for something that should read the post history?

Or is it that you need to go to a "depth" that the api only allows with near unlimited access to an account?

No, because I guess you are genx and have a phd.
But conversely my mom's generation was already that bad imo, as for "marital deference".
Then the studies not scratching under the appearances is shaky (maybe housewives did follow the news "in the closet") but I find likely things were *that* shitty.

I'm not sure I follow.
In what ways those descriptions would be statements of character and predisposition, rather than observations?

Or are you saying that even on a surface level those facts are plainly wrong? Because even for much-ahead boomers couples I'd say it could still apply 50% of times.

Oooh, right.. Because you have a pixel, which I guess has a bunch of exclusive features.
If it can make you feel better, samsung is even worse in pushing AI every fucking where. I sold my S25 after two weeks and bought an older xperia in its place, because even the damn copy-paste menu was hijacked.

I always turn off auto-correction because I tend to write in a weird mix of local language and dialect.. But uh, this comes new to me?
IIRC you just have to disable auto-correction, and perhaps the type-by-swipe thingy. Then maybe disabling the swearwords filter too if you feel fancy, but that's it?

23.11.2025 21:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Mhh yes it does? You just have to flag and moderate for that, something that ironically enough facebook was doing after they were criticized for their lack of oversight in myanmar (but before the GQP started to complain).
You know, just like happens IRL in normal countries. But the US of A isn't.

21.11.2025 16:53 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Fair enough, though I wonder what's the chicken and the egg.

On one hand there was them bending over backwards not to ban fascist politicians, on the other there is the digital markets act as a good example of how it would work.. but that would require decent politicians to enact it to begin with.

NY Times Runs Defense For Social Media Bans, Buries Evidence They Donโ€™t Work Until Paragraph 14 Imagine youโ€™re writing an article about a popular policy trend. The trend is expensive to implement, disruptive to normal operations, andโ€”hereโ€™s the key partโ€”thereโ€™s substantial rโ€ฆ

There isn't if you don't listen to conservative fearmongers looking to blame ANYTHING but their own nefarious influence on society for youth malaise.

And platforms shouldn't not be liable for third party content, provided they accept flagging and moderate according to basic reason and decency
