I was lucky to meet him at an Everton night in 1998. I agree, he was lovely and humble. When he was giving his speech he said he was surprised we remembered him. We all put him right that he’s up there with Everton greats. With his Hearts connection he would be enjoying the SPL now.

He’s still my all time favourite Everton player. I was so lucky to see him play for the Blues.

Us Blues are not surprised to hear this. Dyche had no tactical approaches except one, 9 behind the ball with 1 up front. As poor a manager, for some reason like Allardyce, most sports media like him. For me, he’s not even worth listening to, his observations are as boring as his football.

Hoping he gets back soon. After all he’s magic you know.

I think we can forget about possibility of European football next season. It is phase 1 of the rebuild. As I said earlier we know what must be done in the summer to improve.

This game emphasises what is needed in summer transfer window (as if we didn’t know already) a forward who can do the basics, RB, LB and ball winning/ play making midfielder to compliment Garner with KDH as a 10.

I’ll be honest, I never saw that result happening against an in form Villa. Jimmy Garner outstanding (again), Barry worked hard and deserved the goal, the back four more balanced with O’Brien in his true position. Can we play away every week 😂
