Married, SF fan, cat lover, canine compatible, serial crafter. It's okay - you don't have to follow me. I'm unlikely to follow back. Don't worry about unfollowing, either. I know how tastes can change. New followers: your posts = CV. Nothing there? Bye!

I would never be able to quote the lines I memorized for a couple plays I did (in my early 30's). But I remember our very first telephone number, and that was over 55 years ago.
One of my rescue friends is battling to save two kittens with panleuk. This is the boogeyman disease of kitten rescue.
Crits For Cats does amazing work. If youβre able to drop even a few dollars it can be the difference maker.
I wonβt lie, the odds are long. But this is a fight worth fighting
P.S. SO DOES LONG TERM INSOMNIA.

04.11.2025 06:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Folks, if you're voting tomorrow, please remember that in many states (including New York) it is actually ILLEGAL to take pictures of your filled-out ballot and/or to share those pics! It's basically never prosecuted, but:
a) you should try not to accidentally commit crimes on social media;
b) it may seem like a stupid law, but it's in place for solid reasons relating to preventing vote-buying schemes and also interpersonal abuse; and
c) the principle of secret balloting is very important, and you should have some goddamn respect for it. (Even if you're anti-electoralist!)

Cis kids get gender-affirming care, including hormone suppression AND supplementation, and surgical techniques like access to breast reductions, nose jobs. Trans kids donβt want anything different.
Just let all kids play a role in shaping the bodies theyβll live in for the rest of their lives?
"Okay. I won't do it again."
. o O ( Until next time. )
Unsurprisingly.
But hey, it's great that all these systems are getting shoved into everything.
Yeah...
That's gonna burn what little cover you have for "they made us do it,".

OMG, I think these malevolent weirdos are actually daft enough to effectively cancel Thanksgiving.
(If you're not from, or adjacent to the United States, this is beyond bonkers.)
Days, Diane, *days* won't fit, now...

03.11.2025 21:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is bad news, as Teen Vogue has been an invaluable source of news, often outdoing the Legacy Media on current stories, and unafraid (until now) to tell it like it is, as opposed to how it is spun.
03.11.2025 20:09 β π 13 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Regular exposure to slurs, even if you don't actually use them yourself, literally rewires your brain to lower your empathy for others (pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...) and taboo language is a diagnostic signal in brain injury (pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...)
03.11.2025 11:22 β π 72 π 16 π¬ 2 π 2And the work includes engagement and vulnerability. (And, to a certain extent, humility as well.)
03.11.2025 20:44 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I disagree. People have a right to express themselves in a public square and they have a right to choose not to listen as well. The tools may be too complicated or too blunt, but the job of a social network is not to force you to listen to people you donβt like.
03.11.2025 19:15 β π 128 π 2 π¬ 5 π 0There was a time, when Loving Spouse and I, childless though we were, and neither of us long past the teen phase, were trying to throw money at Teen Vogue.
Guess that won't ever happen again, now.
Oh, absolutely why they did that.

for you, next post.
I had a friend applying for benefits of some sort - years ago, this was.
If memory serves, it was municipally based; but that city of "44 mi.Β² of reality" told her she'd have to give up her fiction library. (It wasn't for her profession, you see.)
Years ago, it still burns.
