also i wanna note that her adapting to her role in redo is just a 1:1 parallel of bluffman and how he adapted in reality
these two make me ill

i can only hope that we get another novel or at least a series that show us more sides to her and the other characters and how theyre coping in reality
narratively tho i dont mind too much with how her roleplaying for the sake of her virtuadoll image can be a way to represent her masking

isolation in the emotional and physical sense is something im too familiar with esp as someone who has struggled with social interaction for p much my whole life without actually knowing how to fix it it gets to a point where you just almost become uninterested in actually helping yourself

also the fact that her dad dealt with it differently as a man who just grew up, attended a nice school, got a high paying job got married and had a kid like any good man of society would do but he never sought out a support system nor learned how to become one for his daughter

i honestly cant put my finger on a specific point on why i like her file specifically but it honestly just boils down to the whole "i just happen to be this way and i have to just deal with it and try to benefit myself even if others unlike me disapprove of me" mindset that makes me relate a lil

like wuthering heights at its most basic level is a tragedy abt characters who do bad things who also suffer from bad things and as ive once heard someone put it there are no characters you love just characters you hate less and Heathcliff being a non white man is integral to his character

anyways like the film if you want i rly cant stop you but u gotta draw the line somewhere the movie already by design and casting isn't a flawless piece of work exempt of criticism nothing is and if youre going to defend it as someone who hasn't read the novel at least adhere to those who have

and to address the obvious elephant in the room im not here to be a prude and say you cant adapt a book like wuthering heights and add erotic elements in it but the way its advertised leans further from the gothic romantic story its telling that i hope we see in future trailers (likely not)

too many ppl have this idea that fiction is only meant for entertainment and cant be used to make you think or acknowledge our reality when pretty much everything created thats fictional is somewhat grounded in real like experiences and social rules like Heathcliff wasn't written as poc on accident

like yes works of fiction are up to interpretation and adaptations are no exception to the rule but at the same time there are cases where a writer deliberately makes decisions with specific things they want to reader to gain from reading their work that ignoring them is in fact
a bad thing

i still need to read the book myself but im over here watching those who have give their criticisms on how the new movie is portraying the tone of the story vs the original novel and then theres Megan from Idaho in their comments like "you dont have to watch it! let us have fun!"
