Garbage’s Shirley Manson Speaks Out Against Music Industry Economics: β€œThis Is An Alarm Call” Just before they kicked off their current run of dates, the ’90s alt-rock greats Garbage announced that it would be their final North American headline tour. Thank you 😊 I appreciate that I was very directly fishing for compliments there.
But yeah, I enjoyed writing that chapter a lot. I will try to remember to write about it once it's been out for a while, but I *very* much enjoy exploring that kind of thing.

a man wearing a hat and a plaid jacket waves his hand Alt: The actor John Candy, wearing a hat and a plaid jacket, waves his hand.

I watched Colin Hanks' documentary "John Candy - I Like Me", after listening to Ryan Reynolds and Kevin McCarthy discuss on McCarthy's excellent podcast.
I'm the wrong generation to have a deep connection with Candy's films (Home Alone being the exception), but the film is a lovely tribute.

Vertical comic structured like flow chart. (1) Einstein had an insight that overturned physics, thus proving his value. (2) I hope *I* have value. I’ll try to have an insight that overturns physics, to check. (3) [Time Passes] (4) Oh no! My insight didn’t overturn physics! Green Party level with the Labour Party for the first time.

Let’s see if the media give the Greens as much coverage as they gave Farage when he didn’t even have MPs.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Please be conscious if you protest this weekend that there are feds at the protest. They look like you and they sound like you, not like Steve Buscemi in that one clip with the skateboard. Thinking you can spot them is self delusion. Nobody you haven’t met needs to know your last name.

β€œNo Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: β€œI don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

Here’s what you need to know about Starmer’s illiberal protest curbs: they would have killed the Labour party at birth | George Monbiot The rights we enjoy in the UK, and the movement the PM purports to lead, were built on protest. Those rights are in dire peril, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

To be effective, protest must be noisy, obstructive, annoying. No longer is this allowed. Now the last attribute of effective dissent – persistence – is also to be banned. But the moment protest ceases to be effective is the moment democracy dies. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Or, if the Adeptus Mechanicus are your preferred faction in Mechanicus 2, might I tempt you with DOMINION GENESIS, my tale of an AdMech explorator struggling to come to terms with the loss of her forge world?

Truly, the product synergies write themselves.

Well, I say the Mechanicus 2 trailer is just out - I think it actually came out a while ago, but Steam NextFest has reminded me that it's out. So if you are enjoying Khemet and co's rather bloody trials, why not also boot up a sequel to a truly great Warhammer 40K strategy game?

I feel like it's only a small grift to jump on the back of the Mechanicus 2 demo coming out to say that if you enjoy Necrons and their shenanigans, TOMB WORLD is out now!

I hope everyone who pre-ordered the special ed is enjoying its lushness, and everyone who got any edition is enjoying its story!

Trump's migrant obsession offers Starmer a rare win - but Farage has scared him off We have a golden opportunity to kick-start the British economy

Trump's $100,000 skilled worker visa fee gives Britain a golden opportunity to attracted global talent. Needless to say, we're going to piss it away because we're scared of upsetting Nigel Farage.

As for this - in other words the government would rather we offshore our operations instead of generating jobs and exports in a high productivity sector in the UK. I despair...

Might have to try to buy a copy now and see if it's more comprehensible as an adult.
