I use the balloon tool like 95% of the time except for that one situation that the balloon needs to be drawn into the drawing itself. for the borders: this time, i'm going in with a combination of the round hard brush + ruler layer + 10pixel black stroke

or, you know, literally just drawing lines with any pen tool

I tried the manga panel layer mask stuff in clip studio and it STILL overwhelmed me so I'm going back to making solid white rectangles over my inks
