The amount of people who asked me if I worked as the character designer for Pixar's Hoppers is hilarious. It was a bit annoying at first, not gonna lie, but I take it as a huge compliment to my work. Is this ego?😅

Quick clarification:

I'm not working with any publisher for this project. This is a one-person project. There won't be any physical books when it drops (well, at least not this year), it'll be posted on Gumroad/Kofi. I'm very excited to work on this. But I must finish this chapter first. 😅

After thinking about it three times over these past few weeks, I've come to the decision that, after the first chapter of Javalham is published, a new (smaller scale) project will start.

I will be making an Oatmeal storybook!

Completely independent.

I already have an idea of what the story will be about. I've been brainstorming and flinging many ideas and themes in the air. Again, this will be more smaller scale (no pun intended) than my main project. Doing this will be an excuse for me to polish my chops for comic and story building. 🐹

(Day 17-20)
I think you can see this is where I start to slip up. I'm noticing a lot more things that I haven't before. Number 1 being that I've just been drawing two hands a page during this whole journal. And again, finger shapes are my weakest link. You can tell my heart wasn't really in it.

(Day 13-16)
You can see that I was experimenting with different techniques (mainly using a tissue for shading and smudging), and I genuinely thought (and still do believe) that I cooked with these. But my dilemma with drawing fingers still hasn't been resolved. They're still looking sausagey to me.

(Day 9-12)
Ah ha! You thought I forgot about my hand drawing journal, huh? Nah, I've been still practicing. Although I haven't been drawing as regularly and consistently as I'd like, which is 100% on me. 😅
