obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)

If history has taught us anything then it is that this will happen but it's still a bit sad to see it happen.

Our focus on elite depravity shouldn’t distract us from the extent of mass public-level moral decay. There’s an army of little Kristi Noems out there.

What makes you say that UPF is undefined? I thought the NOVA classification is where the idea of ultra processed comes from. It is complex but definitely clear and based on the scientific process

Okay, let's try this again in a more sensible way.

Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin O’Leary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, “Obama: Dems need to avoid scolding and ‘virtue-signaling.’” The post quotes O’Leary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Great piece from @dsquareddigest.bsky.social, which touches on one of the big theories for why English-speaking countries do especially badly at housebuilding:

Adversarial and litigious common law systems (Anglo) vs judge-led civil law systems elsewhere.

Don’t believe the anti-vaxxers when they say “it’s a mild disease” or “it’s better to get immunity naturally”.
It isn’t.

In terms of what cures are being lost:

- Epstein-Barr virus is perhaps the major trigger for multiple sclerosis
- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis
- shingles virus causes an intensely painful disease

Outstanding. A triumph for liberty and against unrestrained state power. The government should be ashamed of having to be forced into this position.

Well now, would you look at that? A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Thefts in England and Wales are much less common than they were in the 1990s

Four small line charts showing estimated annual incidents from 1981 to 2025 from the Crime in England and Wales Survey (which interviews adults about their experiences of selected crimes in the 12 months before). Cover vehicle-related theft, domestic burglary, other household theft, and pickpocketing. Data source: Office for National Statistics (2025). Note: This data captures many incidents that were not reported to the police. The chart is licensed CC BY to Our World in Data.

People living in England and Wales are much less likely to be victims of theft than in the 1990s—

Several data sources show that theft in England and Wales has declined in recent decades.

One of those is police records — but they only capture reported crimes, and many people don’t report thefts.

Just because something has a lot of harms doesn't mean it is nessecarily good policy to ban it, as there can be a lot of unintended consequences that only become apparent once you implement a policy.
