All this is to say that removing immigrants has been tried (in FL & GA as well, to a slightly lesser degree).

The gov’t knows exactly what happens.

American workers don’t fill in. Crops aren’t harvested. The States lose huge amounts of tax revenue. Farmers go broke & can’t plant next year.

I couldn’t find the exact article from years ago that talked about how, when they couldn’t find legal folks to do the work, they ran a deal with the prison system. Even the guys who thought they’d do this on work release rejected it after trying it.
