‘Those dollars do belong to Iowans:’ Libraries cut essential programs after Trump’s federal cuts One librarian said some summer programs are now in jeopardy after federal funding cuts.

“As a former children’s librarian, I can tell you firsthand about parents who cannot afford vacation during the summer,” Helmick said. “So, the public library and its summer reading program become that for them.”
