It was an honor to represent Oregon at the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and extend our heartfelt best wishes to His Majesty and the people of Japan. Our nations share an enduring friendship built on trust, respect & a belief that when we work together, we can accomplish great things.

I am deeply concerned that there are high-ranking officials in the federal government who are more interested in preserving their own power through conspiracy theories and lies than serving the American people.

Oregon is the gold standard when it comes to running fair, accurate and inclusive vote-by-mail elections. We'll continue to work with local election offices to make Oregon continues to lead in high turnout, low costs and high security elections. #orpol

Our founders knew that putting too much power is one man's hands was dangerous, and I'll stand up to any President who tries to abuse their power like this.

Happy Lunar New Year and thank you to the Oregon Chinese Hoop Alliance for leading the way, celebrating and building community. I can’t think of a better way to usher in the Year of the Horse than by shooting some hoops w/ great players from around Oregon & the Pacific Northwest.

It's so great to have the Capitol open again. If you haven't been back since the renovation or if you're visiting for the first time, I encourage you to stop by the new welcome center to learn about our shared history and shared future in this state. #orpol

Armed federal agents at polling stations doesn't serve any purpose except to intimidate voters, and we won't have it. #orpol

This week, my office and I gave blood at the Oregon State Capitol Hill Blood Drive. There's a blood shortage in Oregon, and the American Red Cross needs everyone to pitch in! I hope you'll consider joining us--it might just save a life!

Hunter, Oregonian-to-Oregonian, I'm proud that you had the courage and self-confidence to speak what’s in your heart and exercise your first amendment right. Thank you for representing our country and representing our state. Go team U.S.A.!

Thank you to everyone that made it to the Capitol to see our Oregon Constitution and help us celebrate Oregon's 167th year of statehood. Here’s to another year of partnership and collaboration as we all continue to build a stronger Oregon for all. Let's keep going! #orpol

Avel Gordly, Oregon’s first Black woman state senator, dies at 79 β€œI know that my presence made a difference,” she said of her time in office. β€œI know that my voice made a difference.”

My heart is with Senator Gordly's family and community today as we all mourn her passing. Our state is a better, more compassionate place because of her trailblazing leadership and fierce advocacy.

I serve on Oregon's State Land Board, which oversees the Common School Fund and sends millions of dollars every year to Oregon’s public schools. One of my proudest accomplishments was working w/ Oregonians to create the Elliott State Research Forest w/ the Dept. of State Lands.

Thank you to Oregon’s county clerks and elections staff. I know how tough your job can be, how long the hours can be and how the scrutiny can feel relentless. It's because of you and the people you work with that Oregonians across the state get to hold governments accountable.

It's more than criticism. This bill is a dangerous step toward voter suppression, & it's going to make it harder for regular people to hold politicians accountable. I'm going to keep ringing the alarm bell and pushing back against federal overreach. https://bit.ly/46NFBGw #ORpol

Last month, Indiana’s Secretary of State, Diego Morales, and I made a friendly wager on the outcome of the Peach Bowl. Well… the game didn’t go quite the way we hoped, but I am a man of my word. Enjoy the hazelnutsβ€”because next year we’ll be coming back hungry for that popcorn. #goducks #orpol

Congress is considering a chaotic, unfunded, and unnecessary overhaul of American elections. Today, I joined Secretaries of State from Connecticut, Maine, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Vermont to submit a letter in opposition to the SAVE and MEGA Acts #ORpol https://bit.ly/4aO660V

The SAVE Act is a terrible solution in search of a problem. Not only would it make it nearly impossible for citizens to vote-by-mail, costing all of us time & money, it would make voting harder for married women & anyone who can’t take time off work, or drive, or walk to vote.

Audits should be aimed at finding and preventing future problems, not pointing out obvious issues after the damage is already done. Under this plan, we’re making sure Oregon’s good intentions turn into real results – for you. #orpol
