This feels like it could be a real guiding force for football in Manitoba in a way that Valour never truly was. Here's hoping that this is a foundation to build on rather than a replacement. There ARE players here, they just need a pathway and eyes on them.

Yeah! He was brought in to scout England for them. Not sure they’ve utilized him in the best way possible so far.
They also just canned the guy that hired him…so who knows where that leaves him haha

Schools a few hours north in Manitoba recently closed b/c of a blizzard. Schools in Minneapolis were just closed b/c of the goon squad gestapo.
All the credit in the world to the people making this decision to keep people safe. School is just as much about care & community as it is about education.

The boy’s a player. A striker should be the absolute #1 priority, but strengthening the midfield is also important, and Sigur will do that. It just can’t be at the expense of a move for a striker.

With my unbiased scout hat on I think this is a brilliant move.
Sigur is full of potential & has shown that he can perform at a high level in multiple positions & be a significant, consistent contributor. Celtic have been in desperate need of a player of his profile+ability for several seasons now.

I don’t think anything would surprise me at this point. There’s a story going around that we sent medical staff over there to do the medical with the player…which is just stupid and dangerous for so many reasons.

This should genuinely be a non-starter for Celtic and any other club. No money should go into Israel.

Celtic are linked with a fella named Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Laquintana - I haven’t seen him play for a second, but he passes the “great name” test all scouts that are worth their salt know is the true marker of a player. Get him in.

It should have been the k.i.s.s principle. If things are unsteady & you’re having trouble stringing anything together - keep it simple, stupid.
MON understood that & steadied the ship - could it have continued? Who knows, but there was at least something to build on. Nancy threw the momentum away.

A huge issue at Celtic is that the decision makers *all* think they’re the smartest person in the room.
The old saying is that if you are exactly that, you’re in the wrong room -you should want to be challenged & grow, not dominate the room. No one at the club has that kind of awareness or humility.

Multiple things can be true in these situations. The board isn’t fit for purpose & didn’t put Nancy in a position to succeed, AND Nancy didn’t adapt to a group of players who clearly weren’t suited to such an abrupt change in tactics. He refused to adapt & it failed. Nobody smells like a rose here.

A LOT of bad takes re: Nancy on here, so here’s mine - Not an easy situation to come into, but both the board & Nancy significantly underestimated the route to success. In similar sample sizes, both MON & Nancy showed what is/isn’t effective w/ THIS group. Pragmatism is needed as wins are mandatory.

He won 2 of 8 games. The system he was trying to play with the players he had wasn’t working and he didn’t adjust at all. The expectations at Celtic are to win every game.
Regardless of the board, 2 out of 8 is unacceptable.
I rated Nancy when he got hired. This was all so bizarre.

The board doesn’t bend to the wishes of anyone, that’s exactly the problem. In fact, they’ve banned all fan media.
This is a total misread of the situation.
