I had to look this up to see what motivated this bill. It’s to prohibit distracting inhuman behavior in classrooms. What we really need is a bill to prohibit inhumane behavior in state houses.

I’m a state employee in Texas. My mandatory ethics training says I can’t accept a gift valued at over $50, and can’t accept a gift of any denomination if the giver expects something from me in return. I don’t see why the same standards wouldn’t apply to the President.

I was the target audience in 1977. Each time I go into a theater and see the words “A long time ago…in a galaxy far, far away…” I get to be that 11 year old boy again for a few hours. People who weren’t alive then will never understand how blown away everyone was by that first film.
