This would echo my advice. The cover letter is what really gets looked at during screening (especially if you have to fill out a job history on the application). And there are so many well qualified applicants so there may be a lot of applications before you see any results.

💯 agree on that. Only providing negative feedback was a flaw of my earlier years and me projecting my motivations on others (praise for doing my job makes me uncomfortable). Most folks actually want and appreciate being praised for doing good work and we don't do it enough, especially online.
