They're here, I think. It's hard to tell with all the noise the people resurfacing the tarmac are making.

It's almost 7.30pm and I think they're finishing up. That "8am to 6pm" is six days a week you know.

they're always here until 6pm (same as the office), but they're on call if anything happens in the way of an emergency, which means heating not working in the winter, a/c not working in the summer, or a water leak. You can bet they could use extra hands but, y'know, costs spreadsheet says no. Hmph.

I don't know what's going on in the building across the way from me but there's machinery sounds sort of like a compressor but not, and both the maintenance golf carts are there. I feel bad for the maintenance people because they get here at 8am but the office people come in two hours later, and

Today is the first of a "multi-day rain event" with totals of 2"-5" beyond the weekend and into next week and possibilities of severe weather. The rainfall for today, so far, is... 0.00". I've just noticed too that our clocks go forward this weekend. I swear it wasn't as early as that last year.

A printed sheet from an Australian pub with suggestions for future pub activities. Pole dancers, pool competition, lingere service (probably means lingerie), speed dating, poker night, free beer, wet t shirt competition, blues festical.

Add my vote to all of those, although I'm crap at both pool and poker. I look exceptionally good in a wet t-shirt and I'm willing to give the lingere [sic] a go. Rather disappointed to see only one vote for free beer.

That's a v. nice book. I wonder if it includes houses as well as the public buildings? I've always thought there's something different about houses in a seaside town, even if they look the same as those in an inland town. They feel... nicer. More bungalows too.

Does anything in this picture, compared to the same thing today, immediately strike you? Almost all of the cars have a paint job that isn't black, white, silver or grey like most of the cars on the road now. They're colourful.

I'm drinking a modified Negroni. Not "my take on" or "a twist on". Modified.

I bought buttermilk today planning on making a buttermilk cake. I bought beer too. When I went to put the beer on the shelf at the bottom of the fridge door there was an unopened quart carton of buttermilk (best before tomorrow) staring me in the mush. I'd forgotten about it because the shelf above

#WhatsOnTheWireless? One of those pieces of music you know because it's been used in numerous TV ads and for its comic effect in plenty of TV comedies and films, like The Skaters Waltz, that bit from Romeo and Juliet and whatever the piece is when they want sadness.

To be completely honest I don't want to drive at all unless it's somewhere mostly or completely free of other vehicles, like a desert or any other kind of wilderness. On a racetrack might be fun.

Horrible, isn't it. For me, ten minutes to the local Indian food shop in a car. On the bus (two changes) an hour if I'm lucky, two if I'm not. But I don't ever want to drive again in a city.
