I am committed to continuing our efforts towards reconciliation along with Seine River’s superintendent Colin Campbell. Today is only one day dedicated to that work. #OrangeShirtDay

On Friday, I was fortunate to be able to attend smudge ceremonies at École Ste. Anne Immersion and Ste. Anne Elementary. Seine River is lucky to have elder Eric Flett and Indigenous Education consultant Chantelle Desorcy working closely with staff and students every day.

Today, SRTA members, along with students and staff in Seine River, are wearing orange to honour residential school survivors. As educators, we move forward on paths of reconciliation through our actions and words, for as long as the sun shines, the grass grows, and the river flows. #OrangeShirtDay
