In case this helps anyone feel better, I went on a writing retreat once and found it ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to write. I felt trapped and constantly guilty for not writing, and aware everyone else as beavering away. It was like being in an exam when everyone's scribbling and you're not.

If you as a parent do not want your child to read about something, that is your job as a parent to oversee their reading. It should absolutely not affect what children who are not yours are reading.

Agreed. And to add, it's weird how many adults think children should mostly be reading books from their own childhoods. As someone who loves my old children's books I thought I'd pass them all on but the truth is only a few make it through and that's totally fine.

Yes, that’s true. I’ve also had times where the only thing that keeps me on SM is that I’ve got a work presence there. I think I’ve been persuaded to keep the website, lots of good reasons.

A website is usually more secure as well, whereas SM can be set up by impostors. Didn’t think about the school thing but you’re right.
