Fortunately its a cup tie so Martinelli, Eze and Madueke will have their shooting boots on. Grab a couple of early goals so Kai can be wrapped in cotton wool and Max can torment them for the remaining half an hour.

The truth is the EPL is easily the most competitive football league especially this season. The team at the bottom can beat the defending champions. Every single point could spell European qualification or relegation battle.

But the narrative of course is everything is Arsenal's fault.

Karma. It is like the football gods finally feel Arsenal has suffered enough over the decades. We are winning even when we are playing badly. And when we draw games we are supposed to win, our rivals drop even more points.

Exactly. Even if we play the most brilliant attacking football and score from open play, the media will still have something negative to say about us. Might as well give them what they want: diving, feigning injuries, time wasting, grappling, etc.

I must admit that turgid affair was hard to endure. But can we now enjoy the IRONY that despite all the noise and how poorly we played, City dropped points and we go 7 points clear.

Massive phew! We made it. We survived another heart attack, stroke, organ failure etc.
