My Bloody Valentine in London last night, pummeling noise beauty, astoundingly loud and really, still, unlike any other band on earth. To see and hear such radical music performed to what looked to be more than 10,000 people was sensational. Front of house sound was superb, the dream melodicism of Belinda and Kevin’s vocals audible like songbirds in a hurricane of guitars, Deb’s thick, roaring bass and Colm’s mantra metric swing percussion concepts. A transcendent tripped out gig. @mbvofficial @debgoogembv

I can't believe they've changed things up since my Junior Cert business exam. What a betrayal, whatever laws you study in school should be set in stone to avoid having to learn new stuff as an adult.
No I haven't thought this through, that's what the Junior Cert was for

A Batman film where you actually get to see Bruce Wayne's parents get shot on screen. And I don't mean you get to hear other characters talk about it, or see it via the pages of a comic book, I mean you actually get to seem them get shot and maybe the mother drops her pearls or something I dunno

I did tell a friend who tried to talk to me about non-gig stuff to fuck off but that only reinforces how peaced up and spaced out I was

This is a nice piece about the relaxing qualities of ultra loud gigs.
I don't think I've ever been as peaced up or spaced out at a gig as I was at MBV on Saturday. Massive waves of distortion washing over me is my brain's idea of a deep cleanse

Our esteemed Minister for the Arts, Patrick O'Donovan, gave this war on Xmas shtick a whack a few years ago, and I've never witnessed a fella more lacking in every single quality required to make something stick

The house we bought in July is ALMOST ready to move into, so it's about time I start preparing my farewell to that ever constant in the life of a tenant: the mould.
Farewell mould, whenever I suffer any respiratory complications, I'll think of you

Used to work in a place that would have a fairly crap HP laptop selling for €700 most of the time. Then on sales days it would drop to €450, and they'd sell bucket loads. Every time. The laptop was a piece of crap worth €350 on a good day maybe

Through a combination of sick calls and sheer stubbornness, I managed to get out of my time in retail without ever working Stephen's Day. You'd have freaks queuing up from 5am, I wouldn't deal with that very well at all

People should have to do a stint in retail so they can learn to be friendly to retail workers, yes. But people should also do a stint in retail so they can easily recognise bullshit sales days for what they are

It'd be funny to watch it play out cause Elon & Grok (just Grok) would come at you with some overly vulgar insult full of disgusting stuff, and all you'd have to do is point out he's not funny and has no friends and he'd be out of the game

The music for Bridge Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog for the Game Gear/Master System has a remarkably similar melody to "Everywhere I Go" by Janet Jackson. And the Sonic game came first.

Maybe instead of coming up with fun material for my comedy workshops, I should just show the kids clips like this and say "just be exactly the opposite of this prick and you're guaranteed to be funny"

There's a joke in Arrested Development where George Sr is arrested in Mexico, and he escapes after discovering a loophole in the Mexican legal system.
The loophole is him saying to the police "I have money"
