The dogs are thrilled with the snowstorm (10cm and counting). The humans, not so much.

Infographic showing stats on adverse experiences experienced by trans students

87% of Canadian trans students surveyed reported feeling unsafe at school.

We need to do better.

Lives literally depend on it.

This might become a puppy account.

Being a psychologist was hard today. Never did I expect to spend the day supporting clients who have been sexually assaulted as they process a rapist being elected president of the United States. Twice.

Thrilled for New Brunswickers who decidedly told Higgs they won’t stand for his hateful & anti-science policies. Despite my πŸ’œ for NB, one reason I didn’t return post-residency was his horrendous policies & lack of respect for psychologists. Excited to see what changes Holt will bring!

They also taste amazing and were super easy to make!

The latest sourdough attempt: English muffins!

Thrilled to share that I’ve joined a new practice!

Although I work with all ages, I’m particularly excited to provide a much needed service in Alberta: evidence-based assessment & intervention for children, youth, young adults, & families experiencing OCD and trauma-related disorders.

4 years ago today, the WHO declared COVID a pandemic.

Today, we will rightfully remember the tens of millions of people who have died.

We must never forget.

But we must also remember COVID is still killing, disabling, and excluding too many.

We are still in a pandemic. We still need to act.

Why wear a mask to a protest? Or: why spread illness when you could not do that?

Excellent article. My advocacy includes masking, I hope yours does (or soon will) too:

β€œA left that actively contributes to the spread of the illness and mocks those attempting to mitigate it, is dangerous.”

Alberta’s Brutal Water Reckoning | The Tyee Scientists who studied the region’s arid past warned this drought was coming. Thirst for growth won out. A Tyee special report.

I think this is becoming a sourdough account.

Attempt #3 tastes like it is store-bought (but a little doughy in the middle).

Research at the heart of a federal case against the abortion pill has been retracted A research paper that raises questions about the safety of abortion has been retracted. The research is cited in a federal judge's ruling about the abortion pill mifepristone.

Important context for non-scientists:

It is actually *really difficult to get a scientific paper retracted.*

e.g., new evidence indicating scientific misconduct, profound misportrayal of methods/results, or deeply flawed methodology.

Don't treat this lightly.

Figured I would finally jump on the sourdough train as we enter year 5 of the panorama.

Alberta to require parental consent for name, pronoun changes at school Danielle Smith says students 16 and 17 will not need consent, but their parents must be notified

It is so sad and concerning that Alberta has introduced harmful and ideological policies that are not supported by the evidence. This will hurt our most vulnerable and goes against the UN convention on the rights of the child, which Canada ratified in 1991. I will always Support Trans Kids.

Switching from a 3 hour round-trip commute to 100% remote work was the best decision I have ever made. Good for the planet and good for my own well-being. Plus, I get to wear sweatpants every day.
