Follow up: vacuum former a visor.

You’ll notice the one on the left is clear…It’s because that was going to be the visor. But 3D printing a visor is a fun idea in theory but it takes an ungodly amount of sanding for it to be see-thru enough to be used as a visor. I’m literally using my visor to make a new visor using vacuum forming.

Two objects next to each other; both 3D printed “visor bucks” is what I call them. Showcasing a step of how I make my helmets.

Just some behind the scenes…I’m comparing my visor bucks. The one on the left is the new one. And the one on the right is the old one.

Test fitting my helmet! I’m so excited on how it’s coming together. Next step is getting the LEDs to be able to run off of a battery and be set into the helmet.

For smaller prints you put a thin layer of the resin onto it and cure it but because I want this to have the least amount of visual warping as possible I have to just sand and polish it until the ridges from the print lines are gone.

Progress on resin printing the helmet! (The visor will be clear as soon as I touch it up)
