On world press freedom day it is important to recognize we don’t have a free press in Canada anymore, we have telecom companies and U.S. hedge funds that own most of our media and a national broadcaster so worried about their budget they change their reporting, accordingly.

Poilievre-Dutton, sort of the Dunning-Krugar of electoral politics

I don’t understand why the Conservatives are interested in keeping Pierre Poilievre as leader. Not only did he personally blow a 20+ point lead in the polls, he couldn’t even win his own, very safe riding. This man is a double loser and is wasting even more tax dollars for a by-election.

Pierre Poilievre/Jenni Byrne only allowed four (4) questions per media availability. They chose what questions were asked and who asked the questions. Prime Minister Mark Carney takes questions from reporters. Period.

On World Press Freedom day, we must insist on transparency from Social Media giants and hold them accountable for misinformation. Their stance that they aren’t responsible for content and what others post falls by the wayside when they design algorithms to boost this same disinformation.

During this horrific Poilievre election tour, a guy most Canadians wouldn’t let over their doorstep, has vilified the press, shut down questions & abused reporters.

We now have a Prime Minister who takes unvetted questions, answers respectfully & interjects a small measure of levity.
